It’s been ages since my last styled shoot and lockdown had me overflowing with ideas. Sadly, when things suddenly went from zero to a hundred miles an hour in an incredibly short space of time, I just found the days getting away from me (isn’t that always the way with being self employed? It’s either crickets or full steam ahead).

When the lovely Juliette contacted me with her ideas for a styled shoot, I was over the moon! Somehow, being able to get creative again with a team of local suppliers (without having to organise or co-ordinate) was a dream come true! It was just what I needed to kickstart the season and now that lockdown is beginning to ease, hopefully for the foreseeable, this will set the pace of things to come.

Juliette is a local celebrant based in Lyme Regis – one that I recommend to everyone I possibly can because she is so herself.  She is kind, warmhearted and not afraid to be who she truly is and she absolutely shines! The venue is ideal for micro-weddings and elopements with the most beautiful on site accommodation.  The purpose of this styled shoot was to showcase some of the many features this venue has to offer.  We made use of the abandoned swimming pool (which was so cool) – however, this is soon to be replaced by a glass orangerie which will be the perfect addition to the venue and no doubt appeal to couples.

There’s something about being in the company and collaborating with other creatives that truly leaves me inspired and renewed in the belief that I am on the right path.  Working with other women that are living their dreams and working their businesses around their babies just like I am is something I hope to do more of this year and in the future.  We are so lucky to live in such a beautiful part of the country and there is such talent and diversity right on our doorsteps.  My wish for the remainder of 2021 that we will all learn to support each other more, believe in ourselves a little bit harder and support our local businesses and fellow creatives to try and build back our wedding industry AND community bigger and better in the South West and everywhere.   So if you feel so inclined, a little like, comment, recommendation or share truly does go a long way!

For now, I leave you to enjoy looking through the loveliness that was this shoot and I’d love to take the opportunity to big up the amazing women (and men) that were involved in bringing Juliette’s vision to life!
