The story of Hades & Persephone, according to Greek mythology, Hades, god of the Underworld, fell in love with beautiful Persephone when he saw her picking flowers in a meadow. The god carried her off in his chariot to live with him in the Underworld. This beautiful editorial was inspired by mythology and pieced together by the incredible Beth from Apple & Bramble Events.

Beth is the mastermind behind Flick & Flourish and most recently Graze and Wonder. She carefully curated the creative wonder-team that was behind this editorial and to say that there was magic involved, would be a monumental understatement.

For those of you that have been to Forde Abbey and marvelled at the fountain will surely recognise the backdrop in the water scenes and I guarantee you’ll never look at that fountain the same way again. What an incredible venue, one of my absolute favourites in the South West!

The flowers were simply out of this world, styled by the phenomenal Caroline from Fleur Provocateur. The floral arch was made to represent the portal between this world and the underworld Hades would steal Persephone away to.

No detail was spared and this is evident right from the calligraphy down to the gold glitter on the blackberries. I think you’ll agree with me when I say that the cake is one of the finest I’ve seen and Bea from The Silver Cake is a true talent in her field. Just look at the meringues and the macaroons!

This shoot seems so long ago now, with everything that is currently happening in our world – a little reminiscing was definitely in order and I hope you enjoy looking through these images as they transport you to another time, if only for a moment.
